Ford 2-pin connector in Windstar, whats it for?

I installed a cd player in my friends moms Ford Windstar that has the single din radio. I thought there was only the gray connector and the black connector along with the antenna, but when I pulled the radio out there was an extra 2 pin connector. The speaker grilles on the door say "premium", so is it for an external amp maybe? I connected the new radio without hooking the 2-pin connector up and everything works fine. What could it be for?

It's the data/signal wire from the rear seat controls and headphone jacks.
