For those with HDTV knowledge, help me pick one

DLP's work exactly like an LCD

in fact, deinterlacing is even MORE important with a DLP, since bad deinterlacing can intensify the rainbow effect

and whoever said HDTV projectors cost 4 grand is insane

you can get a WXGA projector with 3000:1 contrast for under 2 grand

the panasonic WXGA is around $1900 and i believe you can buy them through costco, which means free lifetime warranty............

IMO, a projector's the way to go. Easiest to make room for, easiest to move, best size:$ ratio, and not to mention, with improvements in front projection DLP colorwheel speeds, and the advances in LCD contrast ratios (dynamic shaping lense and bulb iris') the picture is **** near as good as a plasma or an LCD.

in your case, tho, i'd give this guy a call before you did anything about that CRT:

Ha my buddy is probably gonna pick that one up.
Plus I have no room for 42".
thats what i used to think. i was just gonna buy me a 42" cause i was like a 60 would be to big but it isnt. i think its a little small and might need to go bigger:naughty: lol and my room is tiny

as far as room goes, our olevia is in a fireplace that was boxed in with crown moulding around it and a shelf on top. it was made for a tv, so we measured it up and got something close. the olevia 32" is perfect with less than 1/8" around the edges.

Nice.

Okay I got it hooked up, and the color looks a little off.

Is that because I have to mess with the settings, or is it because its on xbox 360 upscaling to 1080i?

Its not as sharp as I thought it would be, and I have the component video plugged in.

Jmac thats why you are god.

It was set on 480p.

I cant decided with 720p and 1080i, I cant notice the difference, but maybe because I am drunk.

I don't think their are many, if any, games on the 360 that are in native 1080i format which is why you won't notice a difference.

Anyone have any suggestions for an hd antenna?
ive heard that its best to stick to outdoor ones. something like this

http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2348403&cp=&origkw=hd+antenna&kw=hd+antenna&parentPage=search

i have one that i cant find a picture of that im gonna sell //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif but its an indoor one. and since i have cable i have no need for it lol but i say get outdoor cause any kind of interfirence will cut off the signal while watching hd. i renember if my laptop was on (wireless network card) it wouldnt get a certain channel same if the cell phone was to close to it.

oh yah if you decide to get some kind of satellite get dishnetwork between that is directv dishnetwork has 2x the hd channels lol im really really thinking of getting dishnetwork and dumping my cable provider lol
