Check out Babbletron's Mechanical Royalty cd, and their Ramble Anonymous EP. RJD2 and MF Doom guest produce on MR, and some of the beats are way ahead, imo, then whats happening today. I think their producer is incredible at producing beats you can hear time and time again, and are still as innovative as the first time you hear them. The uses of subways and sirens as beats from New York really ties in their relation to the city.
Lyrically, sometimes its like... imagine if you could describe your thought process when you're really high..how everything is a little more detailed, and you use just the right words to describe how it feels.. its like that. The ryhmes are sometimes serious, sometimes just joking around using clever lines that actually make you laugh sometimes.
I've been listening to these guys for years, but never really paid attention to them until recently.
If you want either cd, hit me up on aim.
