For anyone with a memphis amp....or can answer question

So with an osciliscope (sp?) you can get the EXACT gain setting? I'm confused as to what exactly it does better, and why it is so much more acurate, and what else it is good for? Can I use it for the gain and the crossover setting? Please explain in more detail for me.

Yes, I am fully aware that this thread is a few months old...

And since I just bought the exact same amp as the thread starter, I thought that I'd paste this email response from their tech support. I asked them what the middle point on the dial was, as well as where 80hz was....

When the x1 switch is engaged, the frequency adjustments are

40hz to 400hz (the middle position on the [slope select dial] would be about 220hz).

When the x10 switch is engaged, the frequency adjustments are

600hz to 6,000hz; the middle position would be about 3300hz.

The way you derive the frequency is to observe the mathematical difference

between the passbands (40 to 400 is a difference of 360 hz), then divide

that difference in half, then add that number to the lowest frequency to find the "middle" frequency. Example: there is a difference of 360 hz between 40hz to 400hz. 360 divided by 2 is 180hz. 180 hz plus 40hz (full minimum) equals 220hz, which is where the middle frequency is. The same technique applies to the times 10 settings.

To answer your question, 80hz would be just a slight turn up from full counterclockwise.
