Focal Subwoofers?

Anyone ever run/hear Focal subwoofers? Been looking mainly at the 33 V1 and the 30 A1.

Yes I've played with them. As a matter of fact, just about ever Focal retailer has a Focal soundboard with the 33v1's or 27v1's. You can audition them if there is a local dealer in your area. They're a little bit pricey. Why are you looking to purchase Focal subs?

The comps are really nice, aswell as the subs.. But i would never pay what they want for em- even @ dealer cost..

Decent subwoofers. They are as good as many other brands, and they're horribly overpriced. I'd go with any early RE or Adire product, Morel, Peerless, some Daytons, Ascendant or Audiopulse line before them.

just sold a 33v1 in a ported box. ran it for a few months. it was a very good sounding subwoofer, and it didn't need a huge box to do it either. 1.4 cubes ported for a 13 inch sub is about as low as i've seen. i did this box last year for one. the other one that i just sold was in the focal factory made box. (i know my camera sucks)

The ones Im looking at are on sonicelectronix for like $129 (Access) and $149(Polyglass).

Its obviously not an authorized dealer so there is no warranty, but I wouldnt be abusing these either.... Heck, I listen to AM talk radio probably 90% of the time since Ive gotten my new car.

I already have 2 sets of Polyglass 165VRs, and I think it would be great to get some Focal subs to go along with it. 4 13" Polyglass subs would be pretty sick, especially if they can go in very small ported boxes.

Why not 4? Im looking to sound good at a lower volume, but when I turn it up still get decently loud.

i just wouldn't do it personally. i'd probably just attempt to find a 46 kx 4.

have you ever heard one? i looked at it. 400$ on parts express. 5 inch coil. i decided to go a little cheaper, but only because i've never heard/seen one. i would probably spend it, if i could ever listen to one.

I'd say go for it. Sometimes it's nice to keep it all the same brand. You can't go wrong with Focal.
