focal 165fx vs voce k6

Which speaker would be the best for heavier alternative (ie. Chevelle, Korn, Rage etc.) or metal? I also listen to traditional/classic rock, blues, acoustic and the various dance club genres, but these styles are the secondary focus and combine to represent 30-40% of my listening. I don't need it to crazy loud, but do need it to be clean sq.

The speakers will be added to a Bose system with a bit10d and powered by an alpine pdx-f4.

I have listened to the vocals, but the audison dealers in town don't have their speakers on display.

Focal impressions:

I think the flax line is the best overall speaker for my ear due to the tweeter being more tolerable for extended listening sessions and the overall warmer sound relative to the K2's. I strongly considered upgrading to the K2's, which are noticably better speakers, but I didnt like the incremental brightness for each step up in the line. Could be a tuning issue, but since the Flax is naturally closer to my objective out of the box, leaning towards allocating the cost savings for a 3-way set up or upgrade the DSP. Overall, they were very good speakers and played everything I threw at them.

Audison impression:

Based on my online research, I believe the Voces may be a moderately better spreaker with a fuller sound for the tweeter and midrange vs the FX, but the potential lack of mid-bass may be an issue for me. This opinion might be incorrect, but all of the Voce demos online seem to be focused on acoustic demos. Overall, they sound phenomenal (acoustic guitar and vocals), but i am worried that they may be lacking the powerful mid-bass reinforcement and may not be the right choice for heavier music.

Out of the two, audison voce, focals are too **** bright. Any midbass performance is dependent on how good your install is. You need to acoustically dampen your doors along with creating a proper speaker enclosure out of your door. You can always add a dedicated midbass driver like a jl Zr800 and do a 3 way active setup later on if you crave globs of midbass.

I agree that the k2p's and older focal lines are painfully too bright, but i have demo'd the new flax series on multiple occasions and found the tweeter to be much more natural sounding and tolerable for extended periods even on axis in a demo board. With tuning, i think they could be fine for my taste especially if it comes with really strong mid bass.

The voce came into play because I don't mind spending a little extra if the smoother tweeter and improved midrange don't result in too much of a loss of midbass, which is the strength of the focals and a key feature of my music.

My biggest concern is if the voce's have enough midbass to handle my music, which tends to have a strong bass guitar line and needs a strong mid bass that can play the middle drums at a level that doesn't get drowned out by the double bass from the kick drum.

Any comments on the Voce's ability to handle harder rock?
