fm modulated cd changer

alright, i am installing an fm modulated cd player in my freind's 98 taurus. I have a good power and good ground, and a remote turn on. However, when we start the car, the controller turns on for a bit an then turns off. the cd changer gets power, and i can eject the cartridge. But..what sorta wiring prob could result in this kinda behavior?

Your CD changer should be connected to 2 power sources; one switched, one constant. It sounds like your constant power source is working, but there's a problem with the switched power source. You mentioned a remote turn-on; do you mean your changer's switched power wire is connected to your head unit's remote turn-on output? If it is, change it to the red accessory power wire behind the head unit.
