i have 2 12's treo subs on a avionixx 2400m 1200 wrms my box is ported and i have alot of flex but if i close the port i have alot more flex doe's this mean i am getting more spl but it does not seem louder just more flex with it being sealed any help plz

By "flex" do you mean moving of the subs or the moving of body panels on the vehicle?

If you mean the subs are moving more, that does NOT mean they will be louder sealed. Around tuning (about 1/2 an octave above and below), the sub's cone movement will be reduced and the port will be doing a good chunk of the work. There is nothing wrong with this and the point where the move the least is the tuning frequency of the enclosure.

If you mean panels flex more, it means you are exciting their resonant frequencies more when means at that frequency, it could be louder. You're really changing the frequency response of your system so you can't say one is really louder than the other because that is frequency dependent and in some places it may be louder sealed and some it may be louder ported.

What are the specs of your ported enclosure and what frequencies (or songs) are you playing when you do this?

my box is 3.2 cubes not sure about the tuning it is slot port 2 3/4 wide and 21 1/2 long
