Flaring pvc aero ports

I'm planning on using 6" pvc for my aero port, and using the heat gun and bowl method to create my flares.

However, I was wondering how you know exactly how much flare to add- is there a certain amount that is required for it to be considered flared, or does it not really matter?

Also, when using the psp-inc calculator, it tells me I need 13 5/8" of flared port. Does this measurement mean it needs to be 13 5/8" AFTER flaring it? ie, the flaring process will make the pvc shorter when it gets bent, should the 13 5/8" be measured before or after bending it?

And lastly- what's the minimum distance I should have between the end of my port and my box wall?

Thanks!

Volume of Box in Cubic Feet:4

Tuning frequency33.1

Port diameter6

Number of Ports1

Straight Length Port required13.00

Flare Length Port required14.00

this would give you 2 3/4 from rear wall 3.5 if you dbl baffle
