Schuck's has these things called EZ outs. Drill a hole partway into the plug and use one of those. Set cost like $12 with lifetime warranty.

Ironically sears sells the same things altho they do make one that kind of looks like a socket but the inside is made to bite into a rounded off bolt head. Im sure they aren't cheap for a set but its worth a try.
