fixing surround

i have some old jl 12w0-8 woofers and the surrounds are cracked in some spots. what is something that i can use to patch them?

are they like dry rot cracks? or like cuts?

search JL refoam or recone in google, you can buy kits that have a new surround and glue in a kit

its most likely dry, but its not like its crumbling or anything. i would need to apply the stuff all the way around the surround.

and im not into them enough to recone em. they are just speakers for playing around.

its pretty easy to add a new surround

you dont have to recone the whole sub, just get a foam kit. You can get universals from http://www.partsexpress.com or search for a JL refoam kit, they are like $25 for a pair

yea you just cut it off, you dont have to remove the cone or anything, clean it up and put the new one on, pretty easy
