Fixing down a portable subwoofer

Guys,

I wanted to ask about securing my subwoofer. Please see below for the link.

I did read up on this and some people said it's fine to drill and screw them down with a bracket.Also to add some sealant around the screw.

I thought I would get your opinions before attempting this....

industrial strength velcro strips is all you need. That sub's not heavy at all.

That seems a great idea. The problem is... The sub is going to have to go between the rear seats and the trunk. This seems the only place as I have two big dogs. Between the rear seats and the dog guard(which prevents the dogs from jumping over the seats) is a 7-8 '' gap-big enough for the sub woofer comfortably. The problem is the floor is not level(actually a decline where the sub wouldnt be able to be velcroed to the floor. It would also mean part of the subwoofer would be hidden-maybe presenting a muffled sound? So perhaps I have to put something underneath - connect that to the floor and then velcro what ever it is to the sub woofer.

I haven't rigged it up yet! Hope to soon. This is my first time installing. There is a demo of how it sounds on YouTube.

i'd say just leave it in there and play it first, experiment with different directions and see which way is loudest then you figure out how to mount it. The way the sub faces and its location plays a huge role in its actual performance.

This definitely, and there's no reason not to get some brackets to screw in to hold it in place. Sealing with glue or caulking shouldn't be necessary.

And screwing into the subwoofer won't cause an airleak or make a problem?
