Fix ps3 or....

Buy a mediocre Bluray/dvd player for my Samsung plasma.

I've had my bro's busted ps3 for a couple years and just decided to play with it. He did take it in to get an estimate att and it had a bad lense. My testing concluded that's indeed the issue.

I could care less about playing games on it as i'm not a "gamer", I do play once and a while but it's primary function would be movies and whatknot for mah new hdtv.

So, spend the money to fix it or just get a proper runofthemill dvd player? I have a feeling most would say fix it but thought i'd let you guys discuss. Maybe even throw some pro's and con's in.

I was given a ps3 with a bad laser,$40 and 20 minutes later it has been running well for a year now. Buy the laser and take the 15 minutes to change it out.
Still undecided atm.I might just fix the ps3, sell it, then buy the dvd player with the profits. I'm content with my xbox and ps2 that I haven't takien out of the box since I moved 4 years ago. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/boobiez.gif.bcca53c4e1c9539300cad4d7d1b9dd4d.gif

I bought a Samsung Blu Ray player when mine started acting up. I have since been able to fix the PS3 and its in my daughters room. So I vote: Buy a blu-ray player. PS3's are just freaking headaches.
Thats what it seems like. Even if I get a new laser/dock it'll more than likely break again or another piece will want to kill itself. I just wasn't sure if a $50-75 entry model Samsung Blu-ray was worth the cost vs spending $35~ fixing the ps3 that'll pretty much do the same thing and more.

New blue rays are **** cheap now. I worry about fixing the game consoles cause they usually brake... My Xbox broke under warranty then a year later did it again. I since sold off all games and parts to it.. P.O.S made me mad. I still have my old PS3 and works good. Ill run it until it brakes.
