Fix old amp or buy new?

So I've got a 2 kappa perfect 12" subs (single voice coil) that are pretty damned old ~2002ish. Just had em tested and they're good. Had a RF BD1000 from the same time. Nice 1000w amp, but got it tested and it's dead. I'm looking at getting a decent amp that's not going to sound amazing, but be loud AF and still sound decent. Going to put them into a ported box. Working on a tightish budget.

Questions: Any good spot to get the BD1000 amp repaired (if it's worth it + shipping etc...)?

Should I just buy a new amp? This thing looks like a good replacement, especially considering the cost, but I don't understand the science involved; would this amp work well with my perfects?http://www.amazon.com/dp/B004T0YAMG/ref=dra_a_rv_ff_fx_xx_P2000_1000?tag=dradisplay-20&ascsubtag=1a87db786af480cba2ad66650e98f7ea_S

Thanks in advance!

AFAIK the Prime is RF's lesser line. The Punch series is the good stuff. The general consensus around here is that RF is good, but you pay a premium due to their name and you can get as good or better for less.

Personally I'd buy used. Let someone else pay full price for it. You might be able to find some gems on craigslist if you know what you're looking for, but there are also guys here (some vendors) who will sell you something solid for your budget, used or otherwise.

I'll let others give their recommendations. Just my two cents
