Fisher Customs FTMFW

I did an enclosure with a rotating CD inside....you could see the CD move when the subs were at full

tilt....the MDF cut out logo would be wayyy sturdier

and wouldn't be an issue

nice design.....that C&C is the **** for making shapes
Was this enclosure for 2 15's and a couple thousand watts? Ported or sealed? How much port area?

But the pressure moves back and forth in the enclosure, causing those pieces to vibrate at a rapid rate.
Maybe I'm wrong, who knows. It was just something that I thought about.

Gotcha, yea its really hard to tell whats going to happen. I think it will be sturdy enough pieces.... but yea, only one way to find out... lol

Sounds like an interesting box. Do you have any pics?

It'll be plenty sturdy. Hell if she does break then no worries, we'll do something different the next time. I'm psyched about the enclosure and can't wait to get it started!!!

I wish..this was back when CD's first came out...and before I

got the digi cam..it was just a CD turning on an axle and the

interior of the box was all mirror surfaced with a little multi color

spinner lite inside and a plexi window on the front and back

of the enclosure

it was seriously so close to being "Disco"- ish it was scarry

the owner of this system was a DJ of a popular night club

and it's what he wanted....//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

You are correct; Along those lines, a vented enclosure will have much less pressure than a sealed one. The only thing that I would worry about to cause the failure of those pieces would be vibrations. Even then they aren't too thing/long to worry about.
Then again only time will tell. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
That's not true. Ported enclosures have an extreme pressure build up around tuning. Far above tuning, the port actually acts like an open circuit or a big piece of wood and it doesn't move making the enclosure act (and pressurize) like a sealed enclosure.

I think the piece will probably be OK but there will be varying pressure like Tommy was saying and it will add stress and vibration to those pieces. I doubt they would break but it's possible.

Anything's possible, but I really don't think it'll break, there's not a WHOLE lot of exposed pieces from the brace, so it should hold up great.

Ill have a quote for you tonight man, then.... its on! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

I stand corrected. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif Thanks for the info.

Working on it as we speak. Put in a late night in the shop. The last week, I have been getting VERY busy.... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
