first time with sketchup- results

looks better. try doubling the wall thickness with the last 2, itll increase the clearance by 1.5"

you may have basket/magnet clearance issues in the rear with the angle, also how are you installing the subs, screw em down first then mount the board into the box? all in all looks good just minor stuff to refine. sketchup works pretty nice dunit?

edit: at least the bottom will be easy to make, just cut a full sheet in half

that looks good.Or you could take out the 2 front ones and widen the tunnel a bit.You would lose those 2 speakers but 8 should be **** loud.Just a suggestion.
well originally i was going to do 16 10"s, and that number is all the way down to 10 or possibly 8, so i think i'm going to scrap this project and pick up some beefier 10's like cvx's or somethin and do 4 of em, and when i get more money down the line double it to 8 ported hopefully.

Is this actually a design, or did you just draw this up?
//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif it is all to scale, it would fit in the bed of my truck. all of the cutouts and OD's are the exact size of the subs i'd be using, so idk what youre asking. it is a design and i did draw it up?

What he's asking is did you design it to any particular specifications for airspace and these particular subs, or did you just throw it together in Sketchup?

5 speakers, in 4 cubes so .75 cubes per speaker. yes, i did.

same for the other side, thats just what the specs called for

Enclosure Recommendations:

0.5 ft^3 - 0.75 ft^3 sealed

edit: actually i did not check the specs of the second design i made.

Could we get the dimensions to check your work, because I just have this gut feeling that it isn't accurate. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

14x41x12

thats the internal dims of both chambers, i didnt account for the little angle because i figured driver displacement would kind of cancel out.

//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif i think i can multiply three numbers together and divide them by 1728

Okay, then **** you, smartass. I guess I shouldn't help people on what I do every day. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/uhoh.gif.c07307dd22ee7e63e22fc8e9c614d1fd.gif

no need to get snippy.

you asked me if the design i made was accurate, i responded with yes, with evidence to back it up. you questioned it further, saying you thought i wasnt right. i provided evidence once again showing i was correct. what's the problem? you don't have to assume everyone is an idiot //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/veryhappy.gif.fec4fed33b4a1279cf10bdd45a039dae.gif

Right.

All these people saying you'll run into cancellation blah blah blah, pure bull shit. You don't have to worry about it with bass frequencies, because the waves are far too long to cancel each other out in most vehicle set-ups.

i thought i had read that, thanks for that info. those 10's are gone anyway, but i think i'd rather just run 4-8 quality 10's ported with the space i have.

btw, the second design was 4.25 cubes per chamber, making each speaker see .85 cubes. after driver displacement of around .05 i'd guess (couldnt find any specs) it'd put it in just a tad larger box then recommended.

dims if anybody is interested

if anybody wants me to model up their box i'd be happy to lend a hand.
