First time buying component, so confused!

Hey all,

I need some serious help. Since I am in the process of researching a subwoofer to replace my punctured JL, I decided to splurge a bit and get components/amp and complete my system.

The replacement subs I am looking at is either a

Diamond Audio D612D4 (am leaning toward this one)

Alpine Type X SWX-1243D

They will be powered by a Alpine M1005 amp which gives out a clean 850 watts at ~13.4 volts

I found deals on both subs so they're reasonably priced. I was thinking of placing either sub in a 1.25cu ported box tuned to 32, 33 Hz.

Now this is where it gets sticky. I have absolutely no idea what components to get that would match / equal my lone sub, and I don't want them drowned out. With this in mind, I was thinking that a passive crossover would be best since I'm a noob to this.

I was looking at the Polk Momos, Rainbow 265 Kicks, Alpine Components, blah blah blah. I have absolutely no idea what to get. Then on top of that I don't know what amp to get either.

By budget for the whole system would be no more than $400 - $500.

Suggestions? I am looking for excellent midbass (will deaden my doors).

I admit I am leaning toward the D6s because I've had alpine before (two type-Rs before the JL).

What about components that would go well with a D6 at 850 watts?

I just looked up the ID CTX65, looks pretty good! Opinions? Amp? Passive XRs can? Is the answer to the universe truly 42?

Type X and dinamond is nice.. I haven't seen anybody with the new alpine amp yet but it's gotta b good . M1005 and Type x is a good combo too.

my best friend has 2 d6 off a ppi amp. all i can say is loud and clean as ****!

You in Denver? nice. I just got these CDT's, and they have awesome midbass.

and then get a nice 2 channel amp with like 100-150w RMS.

what amp are you using on your IDs and how is the midbass?

I am using an older PPI PC2300 amp on them, they have very nice punchy midbass. I have my doors very well Deadend too.
