first time appearing in court

hold up i need help too. i live in california so please let me know if your court procedures are different. i got a ticcet last month for running a stop sign. and i didnt have my current insurance paper with me (but i was insured) and the cop said if i could have my parents bring the insurance paper to where we were (down the street from my house) then he would just give me a warning instead oaf a ticcet. well the insurance paper was at the shop and it was 2 in the morning so my dad wasnt up for it.. so i got the ticcet

well i read above someone saying show up to court and if the cop isnt there then fight the case? well if i show up and decide to fight the case wont they arrange a different court date and when that date comes wont the cop show? and if he shows wont it be too late to plead no contest?? someone please help me. oh and if it helps ive had previous ticcets for speeding, one for not wearing a seat belt, and another one for running a different stop sign lol. ive never fought any of them though because i was guilty but man id love to do so and win. i just dont know if itll work.

i never knew officers bother showing up to the first in-trial. i thought they didnt have to since its only an arraignment

they dont. ive been to court several times.

i always just walk in and pay the fine at the clerks office, takes about 3 minutes and it's done with.

i always fight tickets, i won some, lost some, had some reduced, and had cops not show up. most courts are different from each other. it all depends on when you get there, some you will just see the judge first and some you dont. you have the right idea with the tie and all the your honor bulls**t. also, judges hate when you lie so try to truthfull. admit guilt and ask for some kind of leniancy
