active.... I originally enlisted in the Marines but suffered an acl injury playing bball my sr year. Had to switch to Navy. They're accepting priors, its just a difficlt & long process...not just anyone can.

Yeah, it's insane. Just back in '07 when I enlisted they were begging anybody to join. Now they aren't letting hardly anybody enlist. Our commsnder thinks it's to force a draft in a few years. lol

Lol there won't be a draft. Too many active reservists to need one. Sorry to hear about the sports injury, though. I know how painful a prior service kit is...it's normally why we refer them to the reserve office. Much shorter wait.

I doubt I wouldve survived paris island at the time, I was only 4 months removed from surgery... basic up in Illinois was enough stress. Still lucky they let me in honestly.

But I've been in touch with the corps since last year, filling out a retarded amount of paperwork, & they talk like I'll have no problem getting in... pending I pass a physical

I've never been to the hospital for illness, 0 medical conditions, nothing like tgat... & I'm in excellent physical condition....

I just have a reconstructed knee...which will probably screw me

Handout generation at it's finest. No, as an American Citizen, I do not care to pay anyone's Mortgage, or doctor bills or anything else. If you choose to fight for the Corporations of this world, it is without the consent of the American People. Congress has not declared a state of War or any drawing of arms against an innocent population of any Country. It is unclear what Country is responsible for 9/11(sadly, some evidence points to our own). There is no sanctioned War on Terror. This is all smoke and mirrors fostered by Corporate sponsorship. It is no wonder that the primary cause of death in the U.S. Armed Forces in 2012 is due to self-inflicted *******.

I think I need to clarify. Veterans enrolled as full-time students are eligible to receive housing allowance to curb cost of living. Not so much a handout as it is a quality of life measure.
