first ported box

Would like to make a ported box for 2 subs, but with a single port. I have the specs for the 1 sub/1 vent box. Is the 2 sub/1vent something simple like twice the vent area with the same length,or will the box see that doubled area and the vent have to be made longer to compensate?

ps, the vent will be 100% external from the box.

Everything will double, generally people use a wider port so it does not have to be so long Ie. your using two 12's so instead of like a 4" aero or a 6, you might try an 8". However this depends on your subs power handeling and specs, tell me what subs they are and I could help you out more.

Completely incorrect here. The bigger the port opening, the longer the port needs to be to maintain the same tuning, assuming volume is kept constant.

See above answer

what kind of subs are we talking about here OP?

I was implying that it depends on the subwoofer he has. In his case making the port he currently has wider could help him out a ton in the

event he is running one too small currently... For almost any 12" daily I would run one 4" aero for each sub. However as XXX as Kushy box is

some people do not have the room to do dual 4's... I should have specified more right off the bat. But I just wanted to know his subs before I

got more in depth with it =]

Thanks for the replies.. I will be using 2 8"Alpine SWR823's. Their specs call for .55 each,+.050 for the sub,net volume,with a 5.25 square inch port,15.5" long.
