I do think that now tech house is considered a genre by many of the new kids these days, and I accept that, I personally always know it is as a style of mixing, but some times I wish people took the time to learn their roots. these guys in my city who proclaim they are tech house dj's play this horrible go no where bouncy house, its turned it into a quiet joke, to the head's.
IMHO that site is pretty far off when it comes to the house side of things, and it is missing quiet a bit of vital information, the reason this is because the guy who made this never was into good house music, or techno for that matter, he was a candy raver into the hard ravy shit, and if you where around back than you would know what those candy kids where about. its not fair to make a timeline of a bunch of music he really doesnt like, its make it irrelevant.
sub genres are pretty much useless to me, especialy now a days! if someone were to ask me to describe my sound, Id say I play deep, dark, druggy techno with industrial sounds, so to a record shop and ask where that sections is....lol its pointless, sub genres to me is a persons opinion of how something sounds, and everyone seems to feel differently. so what ever......imo theres good music and bad. the sub gernes will keep changing, with there will always be good or bad electronic music //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
anyways, ive always been info more of the deeper sophisticated sounds if you may. the stuff from detroit, new york, and later into some of the sounds the guys in europe have been making, guys like underground resistance, robert hood, adam beyer, tom clark, 3 chairs, ect ect. Ive brought in some pretty cool act to Vancouver, and continue to be the only one here that is keeping the underground scene alive.
heres some of my tracks and mixes
