I recently completed my first installation in a '91 Swift 4 door Sedan (excuse the lack of technical terms).
HU: Boss MP3-3060R (was cheap and had the features i was looking for)
2x Pioneer 4" 100Watt 2way (had front mounts in the dash so was the easy choice)
2x Pioneer 6x9 240Watt 3way
Now, because the parcel tray isnt very big and the steel underneath obstructs the 6x9's dropping straight in, i had to make 2 frames for them to sit on. I drew the stencil so the magnet would drop directly through the 4" holes that were built in the steel. However as i was doing the wiring, a friend of mine was cutting the corners, and he cut the corner on the wrong side as i didnt explain (stupidly) why i had drawn the stencil the way i did. So now the speaker (on 1 side not both) drops into the hole but its such a tight fit, the magnet is pressed against the steel slightly under neath the parcel tray. Will this be a problem? should i bite the bullet and cut the other corner off and lay it the way i had originaly planed and cover up the mistake with felt or should it be okay?
And now the second question, my HU claims it can deliver 60W to all 4 channels (i dont beleive this) however, the volume im relatively pleased with, but would i be looking at getting more punch with an amp? the bass is a little lacky, decent but i wouldnt mind abit more. Or will the amp just increase power and to get more bass will i need a sub? im pretty sure the 6x9's can deliver more kick than what they are at the moment.
Thanks in advance.
