First hand account of 9/11 Long read but interesting

How do you compare starving people, most of which could have got off their *** and got a job to prevent the situation to people sitting at work earning a living and getting killed //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

Ok, what does people starving have to do with remembering one of the top 5 most significant events in American history. That single disaster changed this country forever.
Also, it just happens to be just past the anniversary, so I see no harm in paying respect and reminiscing of things that happened.
What's significant is what we make significant.

And it worsened this country, restoring the racism/stereotyping/ignorance we exhibited at the time of black slaves...

Personally I thought this was a good read for the most part though as far as content and depth

I became panicked - not that the building was going to collapse on my ****in head, but about what people would think of me leaving. I was afraid that the guys on my team would say I was a chickenshit, and that we should be going upstairs to see if we could help the bomb victims.

I'm sorry, do you see 11 million job openings business owners can't get filled due to all those lazy people? And do you know how easy it is to make sure everyone has meals every day? We do a better job feeding prisoners...

throughout his whole story, he kept referring to it as a bomb attack because he didnt know it was planes until the buildings collapsed. Read the whole thing.

He was writing what he thought at the time...He thought the building was blown up initially.

11 million no, maybe 10.5 if all employeers asked for a real green card //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/redface.gif.62fdbfe1a101588a808c4cff71bcb942.gif

Actually, it's too bad that we can't go a little further along those lines. We have to be one a handful of countries that will waste time checking the bags of little old white women when we know that if someone is going to blow up an airplane it is going to be a male person of color between the ages of 18-45.

I thought of my fiance, and how we were supposed to get married, and I realized that I was about to be a coward and sneak out of the building and go home. I thought about my work, my fucking ejb deliverables, and what I'd tell my manager...

It was the most shameful, selfish thing I've ever done - I walked to the emergency exit stairs and just bolted. I was starting to panic, thinking about my wife and wanting to get the fuck out of the building and go home. At that time, there weren't too many people on the stairs so I had a pretty easy time getting out.
Anybody else notice this?

Intriguing
I was watching actual footage on the History channel last night

Crazysauce
yeah i watched that on 9/11 some of it was gruesome but it was impossible to turn off. in one of the accounts you could hear a body hit the ground and it was pretty nasty sounding.

Why linger on a couple thousand deaths we couldn't have prevented or seen coming, when there are thousands of people starving in this country that we can actually do something about.
We are the only country in the world who pays farmers NOT to produce food...yet there are people on the streets that will go to prison for stealing a loaf of bread.
in a post after this you said prisoners eat better so in essence by throwing the bum in jail that couldnt afford a loaf of bread they are helping him. i dont pitty poor people, and i sure dont think i should give up what ive worked hard for, just to give it to a bum on the side of the street. every fast food place is hiring within a 20 mile radius of me. they could get a job if they wanted to.
