First Gen AA assassins

Just picked up a first gen 12" AA assassin (single 4 ohm/ stamped steel basket). Anyone owned one? What was your box specs and how did it sound? I'm looking for the best SQ I can get while going ported. Probably 2.0cf @ 32hz, but don't know how much port area I need, maybe 20 sq inches??? Any input would be great.

Also, how much power can these handle daily? I have 500w on tap...

I ran 800 to a pair of the 8's and they pretty well shrugged it off. I spec'd that sub out not that long ago and it modeled well in a really big box tuned pretty low. I don't remember how big off the top of my head, though.

Good to know, thanks much. Yea when I moddled it through WinISD, the response curve looked more to my liking in 3cf, which is whats recommended for HT. I might go on SSA to AA's forum and see what they recommend as well.

Was told a box 2-2.5cf @32 w/ 30-35sq inch port. Anyone think 30+inches of port is too much?
