Im hearing all sorts of things about the importance of fusing between alt and batt. Some say that if your alt has an internal voltage regulator that you dont need to fuse, others say that fusing is a must regardless.

Also I hear different things about what to fuse for, some say fuse for the draw of your amps or to fuse for the max ampacity of the wire. Please help me sort some things out. TY

fuse for wire. fuse between battery and alternator is a personal preference. for me it depends on distance and what it is in the path. if it just goes over the motor I don't fuse any other path I fuse.
