you know, i'd have to say yes. of all the subs we tested that sub sounded the "best" as it may be.

in the 5 cubes it sounded like ***.. but what can you do..

in the 3.5's it sounded GREAT. i mean.. WOW.. its not s.q. sub but was impressive.

look at the numbers.

not even going to make a debate about it. its stupid. i hate kids with more pride than brains. L7 kicked its *** in spl. sorry, it did. maybe a different box than what i offered would provide a better setup.. maybe it could hang.. i seem biased towards the kicker because i've gone through about 10 subs finding my db drag setup until i found this little bohemoth. its tried and true for me. xxx's arent as impressive for pure spl. look at my previous post. it was hands down the best sounding sub hitting 150s.. no doubt. the hc in my opinion sounded better.. but maybe just cuz it wasnt making our heads bleed. *(my friend actually got a nosebleed from the dd...)* and i tested the hc first... cuz i knew it wasnt going to be a baller. get off your high horse.

im looking into some 9915s though.. haha.

and on another note.. a 152 is a respectable number from a single 15. i mean **** respectable. especially for using boxes not even designed for it.

you forgot to mention that the XXX was the only woofer whose wiring included a series circuit, which in my testings, can show a moderate drop in SPL due to differences in the coil's wire (read resistance / impedence wise)... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

you also didn't mention that the standing DCR of a series / parallel circuit on a XXX sits at 1.17 ohm, which is a bit higher than the other woofers in the test, and will lead to a higher in box impedence spike at test frequency.. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Great numbers. My box was tuned to 47hz. I just need at least 400 more watts to feed to it. I'm sure I can get 145, maybe 150 once I apply the dampening material and get a better amp.

i got a question how much power were u feeding the xxx 15" was it the rated rms or no cuz im pretty sure that sub could take out an L7

read the numbers..

my crossfire benched 1270 at 1 ohm.

the kicker does about the same,

and my us amps does about 4k watts.. only burped off that.

xxx sounded the best when getting that loud, but the L7 clearly took it. if i were going to buy a new daily driver, it would most definately be the xxx based on this test.

oh.. and make sure all your friends have the best amps and subs on the market.
