finding cu. airspace- I have a 12x12x8 box filled it 3 x with peanuts

I filled it 3 times with peanuts and then 4 inches with the next pick up of peanuts in the 12x12x8 box

So how do I do the math on this? What's my airspace in my tire well?

12x12x8 = 1152

1152 * 3.5 = 4032

4032/1728 = 2.33 cubic feet.

is 2.3 enough for a DD or ID max? btw with your calc (i ****!! at math) did you take the 12x12x8 x 3 ? or is this what that was: 1152 * 3.5 = 4032

One box is 1152 cubic inches (12x12x8) ... you filled up 3 and a half of them for 1152 * 3.5. One cubic foot is 1728 cubic inches

For what? What sub? What size? What do you want, sound quality or SPL ? how much power?

ported or sealed? Ported, no. Sealed, probably but I've never seen a 9515 sealed?

The 9515 isn't exactly an SQ sub, making it an odd choice for sealed. Most people compare DD's sq to that of garbage. lol, don't know as I've never had one though.

Sealed you may have enough, for example the Fi Q needs 2-2.5 sealed (15")

oh no I'm not saying to go Fi or anything, I just said the 15" Fi Q needs 2-2.5 cubes sealed because I knew the spec off the top of my head.

It's your choice, are you going more for SQ or balls out SPL? (or, as balls out as it can get in a sealed box..?)

IMO a Q 15" mounted inverted would look sick in a trunk.
