I finally got me a clamp meter from Lowe's. I am now interested in testing some electrical stuff.

How do you test amperage coming off the alternator?

How do you test watts going to the subs?

How do you test the total impedance of your subs? They are dual 4-ohm wired down to 1 ohm, but I want to see if it is really 1 ohm.

Since I bought this meter I want to test everything to make sure I am to not ruining or hurting anything. Any other items I should test since I got a clamp meter?

i just got a clamp meter about 2 weeks ago for when the new project begins. So im subscribed, so i can see what this thing can all do. BTW what clamp meter did you get? i got the craftsman one that retails for 100 off ebay for 51 shipped brand new.

For total can I put the needle to the + and the - of the speaker wire? This would be more accurate wouldn't it because it would include the resistance of the wire as well.

You could but either way, speaker wires wont raise or lower impedence by a whole ohm.
