After 3 attempts finally got my JBL p1022 to sound good in my single cab. I know i posted several threads stating my issues with the previous boxes. In the end came out with 1.3cu ft including port @ 35Hz, BUT the port is now facing upward in the center of the car. Also was layered 3 times in fiber glass so its now water proof hahhaha No more air leaks for sure >.>

u have a ported box in ur single cab truck?? I was gonna go ported in my single cab but everyone told me not to becuase the port noise will make u want to kill urself or possibly a innocent by stander. How does it sound? Does the port annoy u?

Nope theres no port noise, or i cant hear any. It actually sounds AMAZING, the reason i had to make several boxes what port placement. At first it was vertical, then horizontal faceing away from me on the side of the box. Neither worked well, was gettin weird port noise from thoughs also. Moved the port faceing up, center of the truck. Now it sounds great, plays all types of music very well.

The box is built to JBL spec, actually .05over. So idk how it seems small. Idk the specs of my port but its tuned to 35Hz, my builders a fan of old school SPL ports

awsome man.. good to hear u got it right. But you said you were getting bad port noise before this last box u made? So where is your box located in ur truck? can u send me a pic so i can get an idea of wat u did?

I guess if you can find the right spot for the port in a single cab it would sound real nice. I dont know if i want to make 5 diff boxes to find that spot tho lol. I was gonna go with one monster 12" sub and port it for my single cab. I was thinking about going with a center console box but i just didnt want to go thru all of that and end up with a result i didnt like. Right now im running two 12" subs at 600 watts in a regular sealed truck box fit to specs and the sound quality is great. But if u could send me a pic or explain where ur box is thatd be awsome man thanks.

Just dont put the port aim out the bottom. Best spot for a single cab is near center of the cabin shooting up. It made a world of difference

The first 2 boxes had it on the bottom (typical for a wedge type 2) opposite the sub and i think it had to do with the plastic container it sits in. Anyways im not getting it anymore, and the sound quality is really decent. I was also told that the JBL power series is **** about being perfect to spec. We built a lil bigger 1st time and it didnt handle 40Hz tones well. Made it smaller and hit the notes but port noise. Then finally upwards port and its all good
