finally bought....

ok i understand that

ok now my problem is i have 6x8's right not in my doors and the comps are 6.5's so how can i make a adapter plate to work do i just cutout a piece of mdf to screw down into the current holes and then cut out the middle of the mdf to mount the comp or what

If you really want your stereo to sound as good as it can, try to look past how much power you have and what you are using. The install is what will determine the potential of your components. That said, make sure you spend some time on those doors and do it right or else those Polk's are not going to meet you expectations. Fully deaden and seal the doors. As far as the baffle - you can use and MDF baffle, just make sure you treat it with some sort of sealent. There have been many cases of rotted MDF over time. Be sure that the baffle is leak free and solid. I would suggest you search some builds here and over on DIYMA to get an idea of what your door should look like. And take your time! Do not rush the install to get the components powered up... you will regret it.

well i dont have the cash at the moment to seal and deaden my doors but i will in a month or two but for now i am just gonna put them in and see how it goes

is there a cheap way to seal and deaden the doors

I'll be honest, they aren't going to sound nearly as good as they can.

There are alternatives to the more expensive deadener route, but it is worth it to wait and spend the money to do it correctly.

Yeah there's a cheap way, Peel&Seal. But after the end of the summer in Orlando, it will have melted, fallen off, or dripped tar down your doors. And then there's the smell...

No, you should just wait until you can afford a roll of RAAMmat. One roll ($120) is actually more than is needed to just do your doors, so you'll have plenty left over for the trunk (if you have a sub back there).

then how do i set my gains with a dmm

There's also some very nice write-ups right here on the forum.
