Well I've been looking back and forth between quite a few things but I think I finally settled on this..

Sound Splinter RL-P 12" D2

http://www.soundsplinter.com/rlp12_premium_series_12_inch_DIY_subwoofer_information.html

Powered by an Orion 600D

http://www.ikesound.com/product-product_id/4689

and a KnuKonceptz Amp Kit

4 Gauge should be enough right?

How do you guys think this set up will look / sound / feel? :O

but also i had my JL 1000/1 running off 4ga and it was fine so yea if you already have it its fine but if you have plans of upgrading in the future it wouldnt hurt to bump up the wiring...but also i doubt 1/0 ga would fit in the power/ground terminals of the orion 600

Hrm.. what if I did like 1/0 guage, and then split it to a 4 guage wire, and a 0 / 2 guage wire? To power both my amps..

I have a PG R8.0:4 for my speakers, and then another 1200 watts from the Orion, would that be enough? Or should I just run two wires?

I'm starting to consider the 12" SI BM now too...

Any thoughts on a

12" SI BM vs. a 12" SS RL-P?

Not much is known about the BM's yet //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif Mine come in next week.

Rl-P's get loud as well.

Why would you want to split 1/0 into a 4 and a 2/0?

I have never heard an SI BM, but I do really enjoy my Rl-p. I am sure that does not help the decision at all but oh well.

Just wait til mid next week and I can tell you all about the BM's //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

If you do go with the BM's, get em from low-hz //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Btw what kind of car you got?

btw my MA 1000.1 is running off the 4gauge wiring kit from knukonceptz ( the eKo one I think ). Sounds fine on my friends focals //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

since DC is less efficient than AC (on longer runs--ie: battery to trunk) you are better off avoiding the resistance of the (DC)cable run and go with the largest wire you can afford... you can always take it to a terminal block and step it down as needed once you are in the trunk, etc.

One run of cable front to rear is more than enough...what a pain in the butt to have to re-do it. This is one place it REALLY pays plan ahead...you'll appreciate yourself..I promise! LOL!

I have a 2005 Ford Ranger extended cab. My speaker amp is mounted on the back way. I just don't know how I could get 1/0 wire to go under the carpet without making a big *** bulge lol

I currently only have $180 saved up, so I won't be ordering everything for about another 2-3 weeks. $250 for sub, $150 amp, $50 for wires etc.. I'm not even half way there yet lol. I'm just trying to get everything all planned out.

When I meant split the wire I meant ..

1/0 Gauge from front to the block. Then to 4 guage for my speaker amp, and 2 OR 0 (not 2/0) guage for the Orion 600D amp.

I supposed either the RL-p or the BMs will make me happy. If I were to put either one in about a 1.25 cuF sealed enclosure, will it still give me that bass that rattles your seat? Or do I have to go ported to feel anything?

mmm, define rattling your seat. I can feel the bass from my infinity references on me / on my seat, so //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

But, I doubt a 12 sealed will give you the bass I think you might be craving. But it all depends, from waht it sounds like, you want more SPL than SQ. SQ = sealed(for the most part)

If anything, get 1/0 and use it for big 3, and then use 4g for everything else //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
