oh how lykus would say, "even a broken clock is right twice a day"my wife had a 2002 2.5 and now has a 3.5,no problems at all.
THey are OK...lexus has the most amazing service i've seen yet. i'd buy one based on that alone.
Mine did that too. You'd push in the clutch and coast to a stoplight and have to watch the tach and give it gas so it didn't die sometimes. Even if it didn't die the tach would drop to near 0 each time and the engine would shudder for a second like it was going to die. POS I tell ya.Think that could be the problem with my 2000 Nissan Sentra?
I'll be driving, and decelerate to a stop and the engine will just stop... shut off.
It'll start right back up... but it happens daily... sometime multiple times.

Only applies to Altimas with the QR25DE 4 cyl engine. Sentra SE-R and SE-R SpecV owners are in the same boat. I got a new engine under warranty at 50,800 miles due to this...I'm glad I read this I was gonna by me a Altima 6spd Coupe...but I'm staying away from them now....
The precat failure involves the substrate material in the precat being sucked back int the combustion chamber, scoring the cylinder walls and leading to leaking and excessive oil consumption.the oil consumption and the cat are unrelated. i work for a nissan dealer and there is a recall/campaign for oil consumption on the QR25 altima. the crank sensor/cat problem is unrelated although still a problem. what state are you in? i'm actually about to head out to dinner with the nissan parts/service district rep for arkansas/tennessee/mississippi.
No. See posts above. Only QR25 Sentras/Altimas.Think that could be the problem with my 2000 Nissan Sentra?

my qg18de sentra keeps giving me the same code.I'm pretty sure the light read the code P0420 which is and has been common with nissans since the mid 90s.
Personally, I call it the dummy light. Nissan of course will suggest you change the entire pre-cat section and thats some expensive sh!t.
