Alright so this morning I am flipping through the channels when I wake up and I come across this show Chop Cut Rebuild on Speed. Some crazy mexican guy is building a box for some MA Audio 12's. Hes made the bottom and sides and mounted two ring on top pointing in and hes getting ready to glass it. At this point I'm pretty interested and I see him pull out this weird rubber stuff. Its rubber headliner mat the guy says, and he says he likes to use it cuz its real stretchy and it absorbs lots of resin. So he staples it on and resins the shit out of it, lets it dry, some sanding, bondo, sanding, paint, done. Never seen this method before, just wondering if anyones had experience with it. I might try it out after winter when I make my next box.

did they use any added strength like extra mat or anything? or just the rubber....kinda interesting.
It was just the rubber stuff. Thats why I thought it was so weird, I don't know how it could have any strength. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eyebrow.gif.fe2c18d8720fe8c7eaed347b21ea05a5.gif

hmm never heard of that, i know they sell some fleece of different thickness on Sounddomain.com is it any good i thought of doing a fiberglass enclosure behind my seat

im sure it was more like neoprene and not rubber. rubber would definatly NOT absorb any epoxy resin at all.
some synthetic materials will work just fine.
Yep probably neoprene. Neoprene by itself isn't strong enough for any large amount of power though. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Don't do it to yourself.....

Go to a fabric store. There is no reason to pay that much for FLEECE. Because that's all they are selling.
