I say don't put anything on it. It looks clean like that. Don't want to clutter it up.

sweet metal. awesome job, glad i contributed man. A+ for a second FG job.
Thanks are en way to you and dbornotdb for all of the inspiration you guys have provided to even motivate me this far! I can remember last winter paging through your respective sites in awe of what I had seen there. Neither of my projects would have turned out so well had you guys not paved the way first. Next spring I am going to make an all-out effort to try an do some work for other Maxima owners that are interested...who knew a hobby could be fun AND lucrative? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif

I'll post a what went right/what went wrong listing later on tonight.

$$$$$$HIT man 2nd FG job, those are some SICK SKILLS. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/bowdown.gif.b85b23b82970bd22fb6b549c3392f016.gif

As far as labeling it, maybe put the nissan logo there, IMO; put everything in first and see how it will look, then decide wether it will look to clutter or not.

That's pretty sweet there brotha man. You did it the hard way, and still kept at it. That shows you got the two biggest skills involved with glasswork, patience and persistance. Keep up the good work, it gets easier the more you do. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Ps I vote leave it clean. It's sexier........ //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/inlove.gif.6846f78f06b405429ef3a00129788a2a.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Looks great. Leave it clean, it'll be tacky otherwise.

Fiberglassing gets easier and easier once you get more experienced with the tricks of the trade. The initial coats of bondo are where you really cut back on time. You'll go from doing 5 coats to get it sufficient down to two or one with minor things to fix. Dealing with the right materials makes life significantly easier as well. Get an orbital sander, don't use Bondo brand, if you have the resources use feather-fill. If you're doing large projects use a biaxial mat, make sure you mind your mixes of resin. Too hot and you'll get some warpage and brittleness, too little and, well you know how that goes.

Once you get into the fiberglass groove you'll find very few things that aren't possible.

have any of you heard of mixing in baby powder with the resin to make sanding easier...??? I know a kid that did this to make a complete body kit for his car, but is that something you would want to do with an enclosure for strength purposes?

Lemans - thanks for the bump!

Well, I have an assload of LEDs I am going to be adding, and I needed a switch for them, so I actually bought this thing today...should be in soon...and will go in the middle of that blank area. I think it's gonna look hella sweet! I am already talking to a few maxima.org members about doing some custom work...nothing like making some good money on the side doing somthing you love!!!

Probably not. It would only thicken the resin. This is a strange paractice...but you're talking to the guy that used flour as a thickening agent. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

Where did you get the monitor from and how much??
Online for $160 with a 2-year warranty. It's a microvision LCD.

I should have everything INSTALLED in a week or two...I'll be sure to take pics!!!
