i going to buy my supplys today for my kickpanels. how much resin, and mat should i need to do 2 kicks?i was gonna get 1 gal of resin and a 5ft x 6ft piece of mat, tape, and about 6 paintbrushes.i already have wood for the ring, and ring support, bondo, sandpaper,is there anything i'm forgeting would that be enough resin and mat? i'll be sure to take lots of pics for everyone.

I picked my mat up from walmart for alittle less than 4 bucks a pack (I think it was 8 sq ft.) A gallon of resin will be plenty. I used just over a gallon for my sub enclosure.

I also used a brush per layer since they cant be reused.

well i just got back from the glass store, i got 1 gal of resin, hardener, and a 10ftx5ft piece of mat for $45. that just seems like an awful lot of mat for 2 kickpanels. how many layers do i need? about 2 or 3 right?

I've tried soaking used brushes in acetone, and it still came out as a gloppy mess. I prefer using fresh brushes whenever possible, especially considering they can be had for $0.50 each.

As far as how many layers to use, it depends on the weight of the mat. If you can stand on it and it won't flex, you'll be fine.
