fiberglass resin

hi,

i need help. i started on fiberglassing in my trunk last night around 10pm. i finished at around 1am. and i left my car in the garage over night. this morning at 9:30am, the resin is still wet and in liquid gel form. i DID add hardener to the resin. but i am afraid i didn't add enough. should i mix some resin with more hardener and glass one more layer or should i just be patient??

Just be patient, throw a heat lamp if u have it in there, or use a hairdryer to speed up the process.

um.

i never ran into this, but you MIGHT be able to mix some really RICH resin (add alot of hardner to a little resin)

mix enough resin to cover the whole thing in a thin coat, and add alot of hardner... then paint it on and hope that it hardens =P

if the back is still soft and the front is hard, do the same thing, and add another layer of glass over it...

eaither TRY that or start over and add more resin.

next time, test the resin ratio with a scrap piece dude =p its alot better to wait a few hours to see if it hardens correctly than to waste a whole project and start over.

my kicks were still kinda sticky when i pulled them out, i just set them in the sun for about an hour and they dried right up.

well, if you dont mix near enuf resin, you might not even get them to harden in a week you know?

and if they are still soft enuf to bend under their own weight, then they wont fit perfectly.

try leaving ur trunk open, that might help some.
