I'd say go with the BTL's just cause of the price. 2 18's are better than 1 right. The money you save can be put towards more/better amplification for the BTLs.

the xxx is different animal from te btl.....the btl is more compareable to the mt......

the xxx is meant for SQL, while the btle is just ment to get loud......it plays music fairly well...but in sq the xxx owns the btl.....

At the sound levels those subs are designed for, you cant really make out much anyway. So whats the point?

I read online where Re was sold to U.S. amps and the guy who built Re turned around and started Fi. However I don't know if that is all true. From the research I've done it looks like the xxx's brought out a new design and thats what I would be looking at. And as far as finding XXXs NIB for less than 1500 where can I find that? I know someone said Ebay but any other places.

1 18" BTL would eat an xxx

and for OP... if you're asking which would be louder, you need to do some reSEARCH... thats like asking if on 08 lexus (a nice car) could take a Lambo

you can get them from an autorized dealer for less than 1500...

yes a btl potentially can get louder but the xxx has the potential to get louder @ a lower frequency, and sound real good doing it...

No I'm not asking which one is louder. I'm asking for opinions on which subwoofer sounds better such as spl and sq (as good as sq can get with an 18" sub). I'm asking cause I have no way to hear any of these subs in person and I really don't like saving up my money to make blind judgement purchases. Also do any of these "local" shops have web-sites cause in my area only one shop carries U.S. amps and RE and he quoted me way more than 1500 for one xxx.

well I was looking at going with two 2000w US amps but from what someone earlier said either subs I go with I could actually go with like two sundown 3000 and save some money, and get more power.

if it was a choice between 2 btls and one xxx id say btl....however the xxx has the cool factor, and will sound better the btls will get louder...more cone area, and 2 18's also has a cool factor....
