Fi - Sundown

Haha, well by crank the gains I didn't mean at a dangerous level or anything to damage the subs or amp, but was mainly saying I will turn them up from the 1/8-1/4 of the way that I was going to have them on for the first couple of months.

I will build another box with mdf within a few weeks of getting the subs.... I understand it needs it now but I honestly don't feel like going through the process again.

Could one of ya'll please tell me the differences in mdf and particleboard.... ... I noticed it was a lot flimsier than other woods I had worked with but really didn't think anything about it.

Ok, well I am not finishing this install. I am going to go with 2 bl 12's most likely. I just don't want to ruin this brand new tahoe with the 18's... plus the box just looks rediculous in the back and I am sure I would get broken into within the first week.... so now I am going to most likely do a full overhaul of the mids highs and subs and do a double din nav unit as well.

Sorry for the dissapointment. I will still put the 18's in and play around for a week or so and get some vids for yall.

Well since I can't bring myself to send the 18's back note that I have an old 40's model paneltruck and I am going to put a new engine and transmission in it and wall off 4 18 inch bl's..... so there should be some interesting things coming.... maybe this time I will get the right wood =].

Vids of 18's in tahoe coming soon.

Got everything installed tonight it looks nice and clean but having some problems with the 3000d. When remote switch is turned on it goes into protect mode immediately sometimes then other times it will turn on for a few seconds then go into protect... voltage is staying at about 13.5-14.2 and there are no shorts or anything everything is taped up and all..... going to work with it tomorrow if it still won't work guess I'll call dbr electronics and figure something out....

Is your ground nice and tight..cleaned of all debris?

I actualy smacked my forehead when I read you designed it for 3/4" mdf but used 5/8 particle instead lol, 4 15's and 2000rms blew apart my 3/4 particle board box and it had cross braces..... make a new box man..... stick with the 18's in the hoe, dont p u s s out

Ground is solid connected to both batteries..... also my bass controller knob hasn't worked yet.... so I may be shipping this one back.

Well the power mosfets were bad in the amp so I am going to send it back tomorrow.... then I am going to take everything to ckr to get them to put it all in for me. Just to make sure everything I did is set right. The last thing I want is to mess up this amp.

I will post pics after the amp is installed and working correctly.
