Fi - Sundown

Yeah I am letting it set over night.... ran into a few problems with the fact I used 5/8 particle board and did the actual design using 3/4 inch. But other than that went quite smoothly... took about 3-4 hours.
5/8 ftl

Your box ftl.....I would redo the whole box with 3/4 mdf...You could look on the bright side and look at that first box as a practice run...lol....

X2

Why would you skimp on the box after buying nice subs, amps etc.

5/8 particle board eh, interested to see how much flex you get and how long it lasts.

maybe 3/4 would have been a bit more permament.

I just built my test box for my truck out of the same stuff, I was expecting it to only hold out a monthe though and I'm only running 200RMS to a single 8!

I think you are going to blow it apart...

It would be cool if you catch it on video... look out for 'subs destroy box' on Utube //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Dats a nice azz box. Dat should get loud and low.....until the box go bye bye //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wave.gif.002382ce7d7c19757ab945cc69819de1.gif

Yeah to be honest they were out of mdf so I just got some particle board.... we will see how long it lasts but here it is for now,

Well I guess so, as I did learn a good bit building this thing. But I'll wait for it to explode before building another one. The gorilla glue just finally wore off of my hands.

Yeah subs come in on the 30th. The box is rather lonely without them though. And the port is flush with the front plate and the carpet barely overlaps.

I will try my best to get it on video... I'll just run them low for a few weeks then crank the gain as high as the subs will take it. Then just sit there and repeat juice box and leave a video camera on it haha.

Oh Noooooz, not the gain! =bye bye 3000D

With a nice truck like you have also with some very nice equipment why skimp on wood.

The subs won't be there until the 30th go to another lowes and get some 3/4 MDF.

ok first off i wanna say great equipment an killer truck.

second i am with everyone else man why would you crap on the wood with all the money spent on equipment. an plus with those 18's i would double baffle that box all around an some bracing inside of the box. an prolly some resin.

an why wouldn't you have the port go all the way across the bottom of the box instead of 2 seperates, i thought you only do that if you have 2 chambers an not one but what do i know i build boxes for trunk cars an not suvs so can't wait till you post a vid of that thing breaking apart but if it goes slowly you will get it out before it goes bye bye, trust me on that.

loose wood an subs don't sound good when played loud
