Fi Q vs Sundown Z15

Hey im looking to get a 15" SQL sub. I have about 1000 watts at 1 ohm from a crossfire vr1000d. My trunk space is important, so i only have about 2.5 cubes to work with. I'm just wondering how these 2 subs compare seeing as they are both SQL and similar in price.

I wouldnt put either one in only 2.5 cubes, assuming you mean a 15" Q. That is around the space needed for a 12.

i figured i would probably have to have them in a sealed box, which should make 2.5 enough.

They sundown would like that 2.5 cubes ALOT better than the FI Q. Specially seeing that Sundown recommends 3 cubes as is.

My Z 12 was an amazing sub, Sundown is an awesome company, i would go with sundown.

I had a Q for a lil bit and even tried it in a sealed enclosure. It was a very disappointing sub, especially sealed. Regardless of which sub you choose I highly recommend going with a 12" ported rather than a 15" sealed.

any other suggestions for subs. I have 2 10" rockford power series (DVC 400rms) in a box right now, but its a new car and i am going to have to build a new box, so i figured i may as well try a new sub with a bit better SQ. I would like to have as much SPL as the 2 rockfords had if possibe. They were in a ported box at i think 3 cubes, built it years ago and cant remember.

Check the exodus subs at diycable.com They have some nice Adire clones (Xbl^2 motors etc.). Dunno if they are well suited to smallish sealed, but I do think they sell/ship from canada so you might save a ton of dough on customs/shipping. I got some mids from them and they're very nicely built.

z15 get's louder, by a long shot. In that amount of room the z will sound MUCH better

Everything about it was disappointing. It's supposed to be Fi's sq sub but there was nothing sq about it. It's supposed to work well in a sealed enclosure and it absolutely did not.
