i can but dont want a big ole box in the way

i had a 12 L5 in there also and it was 30*16*17 dont rem. whats it was tuned to but just a lil to big in height and width, height could go up a bit i'll see what i can do

I have had some problems with this sub a while ago. Sent it to Fi cause I was getting a slapping noise and though maybe it was a tinsel lead sitting to close to the sub or what not but they said I blew it. Kicker was I wasnt giving it over 1000rms and never clipped it. So was beyond me. Got it back because Fi has awesome customer service and put it back in and just didnt sound right again. Was smooth, but not loud, then got loud and distorted to much. So took it out and put it in another box and still didnt sound right. Then gave up for awhile and sat in my room for a couple months just chilling and said I need some bump for the summer and put it back in my 1.5cft sealed box and retuned my system and sounds a shit ton better and keeps sounding better with time. I honeslty think they just need a lot of break in time. I have been tested on the TL at 138.4 off about 900rms with my electrical and sounds good. I did have to turn the amp down from half and is at a little over 1/4 because if I go half or past it distorts like crazy! Really thought I could have went a little more on the gain being my amp is only 1000rms, but sounds loud and clear now on everything from rap to alternative to older classic rock. Very happy with it. I wanted to go ported, but have baby on the way and need some trunk space.

I have two Q 12's with 2200wrms of Zapco power. First SQ comp took first place. 16 out of 20 possible points on the bass. (IASCA) Went to the Termlab for the SPL portion of the SQ (needed 135db for the full 10 points) and ripped a 140.6 without trying too hard....now remember this is a pure SQ car with sealed drivers. Cons of the Q...NONE

I run a single 12" Q in 2.5 cubic feet tuned to 28hz in the trunk of my Acura CL-S. The sub sounds amazing and I couldn't be any happier for a single 12. I can make my trunk lid flex probably close to an inch on low stuff and it maintains good SQ.

what music/songs do you play that are low? how loud does it get?

anymore sug. on tuning freq.? and what do ya think of the BL compared to the Q?

30 hz FTW. That's what I had my Mag tuned to and it rocked my socks on my Memphis 1100 with the gain at 1/8th. The lows actually broke the crank on my window and I had to replace it. 30hz is what I'd recommend all day for a Q

Great sub...

Relatively cheap, very reliable, will take abuse, like about 1000+ watts, good Sound Quality.

They do take a bit to get broken in, they are very edgy out of the box but it smooths out over time. My 15" has no issue with upper bass, I listen to a lot of Red Hot Chili Peppers and Steely Dan and it works great for that stuff.

3.5 cuft @ 30ish Hz

IT gets good and low, and I have never bottomed it out even railing on it below tuning. (I like to find the weak points in speakers //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif)

I've heard that it's highly recommended to not give them much more then the 1k rms. Appearantly that number is rated very high and is sort of "pushing its limits" already.
Not true. A basic Fi Q can take 1K easy and a Q with BP power can take 1200-1500.
