Fi Q for IB?

how would a 12" or two 10" work as infinite baffle applications? The qts is quite high on those woofers as well as the SSD's. I def want to do IB in my 02 Max because I just heard oen and it sounded amazing. What other subs would you recommend that will work well for this setup?

IDMax is one I KNOW that does very well IB.

Thought I'd give it a try. Many have tried Q15's and Q12's but no reviews yet. What specs do I look at except the QTS for a IB application?

Xmax and sd will determine total linear displacement, which is important for clean, good lows. Efficency can play a factor in low powered drivers.

IB is conceptually the same as sealed, the only thing different between the two is sensitivity (IB reaches maximum excursion with much less power) but if you dont have your trunk totally sealed up you could get some leaks with hinder SPL.

If it will work well sealed, it should work well IB

If the woofer has a low Qts just equalize

Concerning the Qts, the IDmax works perfect IB with .34, then the Q has .44. Wouldn't that make it a better fit?

Yeah I asked Scott as I was suppose to go Q15 sealed but I just recently heard a IB setup in a 02 Maxima and man it was awesome. HE should be getting back to me soon. BTW, is it true that I should only feed 50% of rms rating to the sub in a IB config?

lol I have talked to scott about this personaly because I orignally had planned to run the Q12's in a IB, as I was going to do so with my IDMax's. Scott said that in able to do an IB in my application (14.7 sqare ft of space) it would require modifications to the Q12. He would have to cusomize it in different ways to make it fit right for an IB setup. They sound great in my ported box tho. I want to hear how they sound with at least a good 1.3 sealed tho.

It's better to feed less power for IB or ported setups because there is no resistance from the enclosure like in a sealed box to keep it from going over the xmax with the rms power. So when u feed it the full rms or more in a ported or IB there's chances of it going over the maximum excursion and poping. Thats the best way I can think to explain it, maybe someone else can put it in better/more effective words.

Yeah I wanted to go sealed but Rick from RaamAudio has me convinved about it also so I def want to go that route.
