Fi Q 10" what's comparable

I think we need more info before we can really make recommendations...

What impedance do you need at the amp (is it a 2-channel or mono)?

How much space are you looking to give up?

Are you looking for sealed or ported?

Do you want SQ or just as loud as possible with that amp?

I don't have an amp yet. I'm looking to buy everything to make it work together! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I'm fine with a decent size 10" box. Right now I just have a cheap Kenwood Sub and a Power Acoustic Amp.

I don't have any idea about the box type. What ever works best with the sub I get will be fine for me.

I would love to have SQ more than loudness. I don't want my windows popping out but I would like to have a good thump...//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

WTF? Since when is 12mm Xmax comparable to 27mm?
Sure, the Daytons are great budget subs, and the HO's do very well ported... but they aren't quite comparable to the Q's. For sealed applications, Q > HO by a long ways.
I see Xmax is still the greatest and most powerful specification a sub woofer can have. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

In a sealed box..pretty much.

There's no replacement, for displacement.

I didn't say that... but it is one spec. where these two subs most definitely are NOT equal. As I stated, in a ported box this is not as big of a deal, but it is a huge limiting factor in a sealed enclosure.
Look at the two drivers yourself... the only thing about them that's really comparable is that they are both 10" drivers. As much as I love Dayton drivers, I'm not so enamored by them that I'm going to blindly recommend them for every application. If maximum output from a sealed enclosure is the goal, then the Q will eat the HO for lunch and then some... period.
