ED EHQS 12's?

I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with these subs, and if so I wanted to see if any of you have had the subs bottom out when you first installed them. I called ED and they said that the suspension is very stiff so it could be that loosening up but I wanted to get some other opinions. It sounds like a popping noise, is it something to do with break in? BTW I had just one running and at first it bottomed out too but now it sounds fine but the one I just installed is bottoming.

A popping noise can be caused by a number of different things, but not usually by a stiff suspension in need of break-in. What are the details of the rest of your system -- what amp are you running, what box size (and tuning, if ported), what voice coil config. are they, and how are they wired?

I have 4, 2 of them bottom out in the enclosure they are in and 2 of them don't../shrug

in about 7 cubes for each pair @ 250 watts rms.

They like lots of room but bottom out easily..heard others had the same problem

Amp is Diamond D3 400.1. Box is 4 cubes tuned to 37 hz. They are 2 ohm subs and i have them wired parallel to give each sub 200 watts

I have heard that the subs can perform pretty well so I was just wondering if this was normal for the sub or not. And how much does this damage the sub? Do you think the box is too small or that I am overpowering them?

if they are bottoming out then the 3.5 cubs each might have something to do with that..

Each sub only sees 2 cubes they are both in a 4 cube box. Not each one in a 4 cube box.
