Fi Q 10" Dual 1 ohm (.7 ohm coil) Wiring? What are my options?

Fi Q 10" dual 1 ohm voice coil wiring, what are my options? If it matters, it has the cooling option, and it's the high qts in a sealed max spec box. The coils are actually .7 ohm, so im guessing it can only be wired down to .35 ohm or 1.4 ohm, correct? I'm just not sure how it would b wired, because my amp is only 1 ohm stable. Would my amp work with this subwoofer? Thanks in advance //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Yep, .35 or 1.4 ohm. Technically you could hook up only one coil if you wanted, for a .7 ohm load, but that would cut your power handling in half and alter your t/s parameters significantly (not recommended unless you know what you are doing).

Some amps are better at dipping below their rated minimum impedance, but generally speaking it sounds like your best bet is wiring it to 1.4 ohms.

Ok, bit of a noob question, but how exactly would I hook it up to run both coils to my 1 ohm stable amp? My amp could probably handle a really low load, but it's only warrantied down to 1 ohm and I don't want to worry I'm gonna damage something in some way... I have one jumper piece of wire right now going from one pos and one negative on one coil, and the wire to my amp is wired to the pos and neg of the other coil. Is that recommended or ok to do, or what would you recommend I do?

This doesn't have .7 ohm coils, but it shows how to wire in series or parallel: Rockford Fosgate® - Woofer WiringWizard
