Fi Q 10" - Best Box Specs For It?

As the title states, Im thinking about getting a Fi Q 10" subwoofer, 2 ohms, and I was wondering what cubic feet and hz you guys think it'd sound best like in a ported box. Im hoping 1.5 cu.ft. would be sufficient to power it, I'd be giving the sub around 900-1,100 watts RMS.

What are your guys opinions?

The site recommends a 1.2cuFt @ 28-33 hz.

I would stick with that a bit more closely. 1.5 is probably a bit big for a Q, but I could be wrong..

Also give yourself some head room. I have about 1400 going to my 12" Q right now, and it takes it like a champ. So maybe more around 1100-1200 RMS should be good?

Alright thanks very much for your ideas/suggestions. I can do 1.2 cu.ft. easily at probably 30-32 hz. Will 1,400-1,600 watts RMS (1 ohm on my amplifier) be too much for a 10" to handle? If not, I can stick with 900-1,100 watts RMS.

Anybody else have suggestions on box specs and such?

Does FI have a forum?

Try your luck there. I think 1400 RMS on a 10" might be a bit much. About 1200-1300 should probably be good, just make sure you keep an eye on the sub as to not blow it.

Scott usually posts on there every couple of days.

EDIT: Scott is the one making the sub you're about to buy. He's a great guy, but he's usually pretty busy. Like I said, try out that forum. Or you can shoot him an email and hope for the best lol. He'll probably respond in a day or two. Like i said, he's pretty busy all the time, and gets a lot of emails a day.

Seems like not alot of people post on that forums, but thanks for the find/help on it.

So far, Im just going to go with 1.2 cu.ft. because that what the site recommended, but Im hoping others on here can help me out with any other sizes unless thats good?

Oh, also, how much can a 10" Fi Q take max? The RMS is 1000.

Since my amplifier puts out 1,600 watts RMS (not subtracting resistance and power drops or whatever, so really its probably around 1,300-1,400), would that be sufficient for 2 10" Fi Q's even though their RMS is 1,000? Because if I wired the subs into 1 ohms, then they'd each get about 650-700 watts RMS maybe about, would that be enough to make these subs wang? Or am I better off with 1 Fi Q?

Another question, do you think a Fi Q 10" is going to be louder/better than a 12" Type-R?

Last thing, Im hoping for some more input on some box size in cu.ft. and such if you could help me out with that.

Thanks guys.
