Fi making 8's?

Any one know if Fi has thought about, or is currently working on an 8" design on their line of woofers. 8" BTL seems like a good idea, i mean look at DD

's 8" line and all the competitions they win. I would love to see a triple stack 8" woofer that came from Fi

No, I remember scott saying that he doesnt plan on making 8's. They don't even make 10" BTL's why would they make 8"BTL's.

Ascendant Audio makes 8's and soon SSA will have a triple stack 8" as well.. about as close to Fi as you're going to get.

No, not a joke. Just wondering. And thanks for the info on the SSA 8. I remember seeing a prototype 8 with triple stack which is what made me think of it. But it wouldnt have to be a BTL. For the quality sound guys some 8" Q's would be great.

well thats the size of the old btl's what about the new single mag ones?

a 8 would be pretty cool but they stopped making tens for the newer model so i doubt they would make a 8.

i think i remember scott saying in a thread somewhere that he didnt even like making 10's period. he had some scientific reason that i really know nothing about but i think i remember him saying that.

The problem has to do with their coils. Fitting a 3" coil onto an 8" basket and have enough workable space for the spiders is quite difficult.

they would have an extremely hard time making an 8" BTL that would function the way it should. and even if they did make it, it would only be used as a novelty
