Fi BL15 vs Lanzar OPTI1532D

I want to upgrade my system to something with deeper hitting bass but want to stay around the 1000-1300rms range. [Right now, I have two 12" Type R's wired to 1 ohm at 1000 watts rms with a Cadence amp.] I'm thinking about either upgrading to a 15" Fi BL with all the options or a 15" Lanzar OPTI1532D. Does anyone have any suggestions for what I should do?

Lanzar obviously.. just b/c there are so many numbers after the name.. it must mean that they made a lot of upgrades to the sub and now it is the best sub in the world

From what I hear the Lanzar is capable of getting pretty loud. You can get it for $194 w/ a warranty. Depends if the extra $80 is worth it to you.

considering you have more cone area with your current set up, i would believe a new

box would be your best bet. Have someone build you a loud box.

I already have a good box, but I've heard that the cone area plus the size of the sub's magnet has the greatest affect on how deep it will get. If I upgrade to a 15" sub, then I'm getting a custom made 4 cubic foot box tuned at 32 hertz.

You heard wrong.

If your not upgrading power. And you already have a nice box for the argh's, you won't be any louder with the 15". If anything you'll be quieter. I say build a nice ported box for the R's.

The BL will not be noticeably louder. Port the Rs and you will notice a big difference. I have owned a pair of Rs ported and an SX 15 ported and output to the ear is very similar.

what you call "good" and "loud", would not be "good" at all in my book. Your

forgetting its all in the install/box.
