FI BL vs AQ HDC3

So an HDC3 18" with the aluminum coil upgrade will take over 2k rms daily? I swear it says 1k rms on their site, but oh well.
And the HDC3 18" will blow away a BL then?
Don't pay attention to the 1000rms rating, they are far more capable than the bls. The hdc dwarfs a bl. They are around 60 pounds or so..

BL is somewhere between SQ and SPL, I guess "SQL" to an extent. They do well, but will not take 2k+ rms Daily, it just will not point blank.

The HDC is much better built to take that power, and although you dont NEED the aluminum coil I'd highly suggest it.

HDC
You will FRY a BL on 2k rms daily. A friend had two on two SAZ1500D's and after about 15-20 mins of beating on them(at 1ohm nom per amp) the dust caps on the woofers were so hot I couldn't keep my hand on there for more than a few seconds, and he was not playing below tuning for those wondering.

HDC vs BTL should be your comparison for single woofers, and then bl's vs the copper HDC's for dual sub setup.
Playing below tuning has nothing to do with inducing heat. If anything it gets rid of heat because the soft part assembly is moving...more.

What your feeling is the wrath of these fantastically cheap Korean high current amps...rather then a high voltage amps that are very very expensive, and too much volume knob. If you begin square wave anything it will build up heat (current). If you are not smelling coil then it is not hot...but 99% of people do not understand how the cooling techniques work...yes the dustcaps will get warm, some even get hot as Lil John's does in his van, but it is due to the ambient air and heat transfer...

I've got an SSD 12..with 1200 watts to it..daily..copper coil..no 'options' sealed and it never gets hot...beat on it all day long!

Granted i've got almost 2kw to each tweet setup on the door of the green truck and never fried them or got them 'hot..'

The BL is designed to be a step between a Q, and a BTL....1500 watts to 1700 watts is fine for the normal person who might not know when to stop with the volume knob. If they simply don't know when to stop then 1000 watts is fair...

2kw+ = BTL territory..

48lbs on the 12", my buddy weighed his
Well this further backs up my point then //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif. Seeing as the 18 is obviously heavier, its somewhere close to 60. I would guess 55 or so.
