anyways how much more power would i need to get the HDC3 to its full power. i thought i would get the HDC3 since ts like 50$ cheaper and the same rms rating as the BL.

should i port this or seal it?.. i kind of want to port it since i like port better than sealed, but which should i do.

with the subwoofer level at 0 on my deck its a bangout with volume turned up.....at +8 its stupid.

^ I was thinking about getting the hifonic for either of them, cause couldnt i just wire the subs to 1 ohm if i get the dual 1ohm. or would it be a 2ohm sub? plus the hifonic is cheaper if i get it off of sonic electronx.

also how big of a box would i need to fit 2 15's?

i dont have that much room in my car.. but if someone could tell me how to measure my car into cubic ft or whatever, so i can see how big the box should be that would be awesome.

single 15" BL off of sundown power or AQ1200. Unless you do like 3-500 in electrical upgrades to run a AQ2200 propperly.

the site says the aluminum HDC3s are gonna be available in may. It's almost august. Anybody have inside info on these? Also for a non competitor, is it worth getting the aluminum coil over the copper?

Disclaimer: I haven't had hands-on experience with either of these subwoofers.

From what I've seen on this forum, the HDC3's can take nearly double their RMS rating without breaking a sweat. Apparently 1000 watts gets them movng, but doesn't at all bring out their full potential. The BL's on the other hand, do much better off just 1000 watts a piece. From the TL numbers people have been putting up, the AQ's have the potential to get considerably louder.

In order to run a pair of AQ's, you'd need at least 3000 watts going to the pair, along with some serious electrical upgrades (250 amp alternator, at least 2 car audio batteries, big 3)

RMS rating doesn't make two subs equals. Just something to keep in mind.

yea with either of those amps you are going to need to only do 1 sub, or 2 amps(or one big amp) 2 subs

neither of those amps are close to being powerful enough to power 2 of those subs....

as for how to measure how much space you have available take max dimensions that you can use, subtract 1.5" from each end for the wood thickness.... then W x H x L, and divide that number by 1728 for cubic ft

so basically if i got those AQ i would need some serouis upgrades and i would need a way better amp?.. what if i got only 1 AQ would it handle that 3k rms daily, or like 2/2.5k rms and would that shit poud as much as 2 bls? cuase getting more amps or a higher one will go wayyy over my budget and also where can i get the "big three upgrade" i went to an audio store todya and the dude had no clue what i was talking about. also would i need an extra battery for just getting 1 AQ

What car do you have as fitting 8+ cubes is NOT easy....

HDC will take 2k+ daily if you know what you're doing. Mine get short blasts with 3k each and have no problem taking it.
